I wish this wind would take me far

Grant me wings, and I’ll fly over the Thar

I wish to see the mountains, their peaks stabbing the clouds

I wish to pitch a tent, and lay nestled in their shrouds.

I wish to hear the echoing noise, in the quiet forest night

I wish to see the gushing river, in the backdrop of stars

I wish this rain melts me away, and the wind blows away the dust

To the farthest corners of the earth and in the hands of lust.

I dream of white sandy beaches

Of thick long palms, dying sunsets and cool salty breezes.

I wish someone would set free my soul

And free me from all earthly holds

So that I may explore the world and see

And understand my true destiny.
